Ball Fitting - Best on Test

With the hundreds of different balls on the market how on earth are you to decide which one to use. I will bet if I asked 100 people how they decide the top answers would be the following:-

  1. Now...What was the one I found the other day!
  2. I won some in the two's sweep and I putted well with them so I will give them a try.
  3. Tiger uses Nike so if they are good enough for him!
  4. I am not good enough to worry about the right ball, I just buy the ones the Pro-Shop has on sale.
  5. I want to hit the ball a long way so always buy a really hard ball.

Having conducted many ball fittings I have only found about 5% of golfers who have been using the best suited ball to their games. Golfers spend £100's on new drivers in the eternal search for more distance, this could be achieved by spending less than £40 on a dozen new balls.

On average players increase their driving distance by around 15 yards and iron distance around 7 yards. If you think that only achieving this increase is not going to have an impact on your game consider the following:-

If you were playing a par 5 at 550 yards, and you normally hit Driver, 3 wood, 8 iron
by having a better suited ball could mean your 3rd shot would now be a PW!

BEST ON TEST

It is very difficult to recommend a ball for someone as the club speed, launch angle, spin rates and individual player requirements all play a part in selecting the ball best suited. Below are a list of balls that regularly appear at the top of the results table.

MOST ACCURATE BALL - Srixon Z-Star

BEST FOR DISTANCE - Precept Lady IQ180, Titleist DT Roll, Srixon URC, Callaway tour ix, Nike One Tour, Taylor Made Burner.

*The above balls are from tests that I have conducted, and may be different for you. The only sure fire way is to have your very own ball fit.
